Cilindrical Granules
- Manufacturer: Techma
- Material: Brass
- Shape: Cilindrical
Technical Data
Brass grain or brass cylinder is obtained by cutting the brass wire into pieces as long as the diameter.
All have grains of the same size and with the same chemical-physical characteristics.
In addition, the nature of the material (drawn brass wire) and the production system exclude the presence of impurities and grains with inclusions, cavities, blowing, etc.
It should also be noted that, although it appears in a cylindrical form, it acquires, during a few processing cycles, a spherical-polyhedral shape, which it then maintains, although gradually reducing in diameter, throughout its life.
They are particularly suitable for blasting brass parts and offer the following advantages:
compared to steel and stainless steel grit:
- maintaining the original color of the brass;
- strong reduction in abrasive consumption;
- reducing the consumption of spare parts for the sandblasting machine;
- the absence of pollution with foreign materials on the sandblasted parts;
compared to scrap brass:
- the availability of various well-defined size measures;
- the great reduction in abrasive consumption;
- significantly shorter sandblasting times;
- the constant roughness of the sandblasted parts depending on the size used;
- reducing the dust from the abrasive system.
Brass Metallic Abrasives can be used without discrimination with turbine systems, with free jet sandblasting and with cabins for blasting with compressed air with an excellent performance.
However, the granules themselves are not suitable, for technical reasons, for use in vacuum blasting cabinets.
