Technical Data

The production process of spherical steel granules for peening treatment starts from the fusion of selected scrap and selected alloys in a specially dedicated line. After the atomization and cooling of the granules, a first screening is done to eliminate malformed grains.

The spherical grain is heat treated and then subjected to a conditioning/lapping process as per AMS regulations. A further step follows to remove non-conforming pellets for shape and further screening for size.
Three different types of checks are then performed:
- microstructural control;
- hardness control;
- dimensional check.
