- Material: Silicon Carbide
Technical Data
Silicon carbide is a compound obtained from coal and quartz sand combined at high temperatures (2500°C). The result is an iron-free compound.
It can be reused many times during the blasting process, making it an economical alternative to other blasting products.
It has an angular shape and has the peculiarity of having a high hardness: only one Mohs point lower than a diamond.
The characteristics of silicon carbide make it a very aggressive sandblasting abrasive, which can be used for sandblasting very hard materials such as hardened steel, ceramics, etc.
It can be used with free jet blasting and in compressed air or vacuum blasting cabinets.
